100 Years Ago: 1922

Rehearsals are to start at once for the E.L.H.S. Senior drama, “Bachelor Hall,” to be presented in Auburn Hall, April 20 and 21. “Bachelor Hall” is a comedy in three acts and had its original presentation in the Hollis Street Theater, in Boston.

50 Years Ago: 1972

A special program on family relationships will be held Sunday evening at the United Methodist Church on Park Avenue, Auburn. Using the theme “Finding a Way.” Mr. and Mrs. John Connor of Winthrop and two young people accompanying them will discuss their personal experiences, most of them happy ones, in dealing with the generation gap and they will lead a discussion. Those attending will take sandwiches and coffee will be provided by members of the Junior MYF.

25 Years Ago: 1997

It may not have been the easiest way to raise money for academics, but it was certainly the most fun. More than 100 people — students, teachers, administrators, business owners and members of the community — took their positions around a circle of chairs at the Oxford Hills High School Wednesday night to fight for the right to be named champion of the fourth annual Musical Chairs Extravaganza to benefit the Viking Academic Corps. The corps uses the money earned at a single annual fund-raiser to purchase year end awards to honor high school students for excellence.
