The Congregational Church of East Sumner has sent $200 to support the refugees of Ukraine, according to a news release from the church.

A hand-painted gourd at the church is a visible symbol of the support for the Ukrainian people. It is painted in yellow and blue with a sunflower — the colors of the Ukrainian flag and the country’s national flower.

The church plans will host a fundraiser during the annual spring sale on 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at the church, 50 Main St., Sumner.
