To the Editor:
What a wonderful story by Gillian Graham regarding Ethar Milliken and Ukrainian refugees of another era and the freedom farms. Maine has been the recipient of other immigrants over its history that have impacted our lives for the good, whether they came from Canada, Europe, Africa, or other places. Welcoming the stranger has deep Biblical roots in the Old Testament and certainly binds us together as a welcoming nation concerned about our brothers and sisters from far away places and their welfare. Thank you for helping us see that history repeats itself and that people are concerned for one another. It is a blessing.
