OXFORD — Fire destroyed a mobile home and an adjacent shed Monday morning on Glenn Street.

Firefighters received the call at 10:45 a.m. of a shed on fire at 54 Glenn St. When the first fire crews arrived, the shed was engulfed in flames, which had spread to the mobile home, Oxford Assistant Fire Chief Shawn Cordwell.

The residents, who were home at the time, escaped with no injuries. The family’s seven cats also escaped, with firefighters assisting two of the felines with oxygen.

The mobile home was destroyed, sustaining significant smoke and water damage.

Assisting the Oxford Fire Department were departments from Norway, Paris and Poland.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, Cordwell said. The Maine State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating.
