Fifth-grader William Bumpus designs a covered wagon Tuesday on a computer before sending it to a 3D printer at Oak Hill Middle School in Sabattus. The class was learning about westward expansion, the 19th-century movement of settlers into the American West. They filled wagons with characters and supplies, and a wrote a journal as if they were a pioneer on the Oregon Trail, based on what they are learning.
