BERWICK – John A. Higgins, Professional Engineer, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 24 at 5:20 a.m. in York. He was surrounded by his loving wife, son, and daughter.
Born in 1951 in Lewiston to Arthur and Mary Higgins and brother to Chris, John grew up in Auburn. A member of Edward Little High school class of 1970, he met and married his high school sweetheart Carol Levesque. They were to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this June.
Utilizing his education from the former CMVTI school, John relocated to Berwick in early 1980 to practice engineering with several New Hampshire Seacoast engineering firms. In Berwick, they raised son Benjamin and daughter Jennifer. During this time, John was active in local planning boards until 2010 when health concerns forced an early retirement.
John is also survived by grandchildren in Northbridge, Mass. and Lincoln, N.H.
