POLAND – Richard R. Barry, 82, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on March 28, 2022, at the Lamp Memory Care Center in Lisbon. He was born Nov. 1, 1939 in Brewer, Maine.He is survived by his wife, Susan Adkins Barry, 83, of Poland, Maine, and their children: Kim, Jean and her husband David Martin and granddaughter Darby and her husband Nate Goss, Lynn and her husband Mark Gelinas and granddaughters Erin and Kira, and Nicholas and grandson Rory.Richard grew up in Mechanic Falls, Maine, where in school he participated in many extracurricular activities and excelled at playing basketball for the high school team. He graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1958 and then from the University of Maine in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science/Business Administration degree. For many years he worked in finance for various businesses, mainly in the Northeast. Richard enjoyed long walks, listening to music, dancing, skiing, golfing, playing cards, gathering with close friends, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. No services will be held at this time. At a later date a celebration of life and small family gathering will take place.Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 26 West Dwinal Street, Mechanic Falls.
