Season outlook:
Edward Little continues to grow its program and is looking to build on the improvements and success from last season. The Red Eddies had some key wins last year, including a playoff win, that brought out some athletes who might not have played if not for signs of success. The team had a big jump in roster numbers and is hoping to turn that growth into some wins.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/POLAND 26ERS
Coach: Tyler DeMoore-Gonzalez (First Year)
Class: C; Conference: WMC
2021 results: 7-7, lost in the second round of playoffs.
Returning athletes: Seniors — Ben Pierce (M), Owen McDuffie (FOGO/M), Jake Butler (D), Bradan Craig (LSM), Dylan Reed (A), Vinny Lupardo (A/M). 
Promising newcomers: 
Sophomores — Andrew Nadeau (D), Talen Langevin (M), Thomas Ladd (M), Noah Schaffer (A), Kyle Plummer (G); Freshmen — Sawyer Nelson (M), Ashton Golebiewski (M/A), Jameson Hart (G).
Season outlook: The 26ers are a team that are excited to lay the foundation for the program during its first year as a co-op. With a large senior class — paired with lots of young talent — the team will look to show opponents that it will compete hard from the first whistle to the last.

LEWISTON BLUE DEVILS

2021 results: 6-6 regular season, beat Edward Little in quarterfinals before losing to Windham in semifinals.

Season outlook: The Blue Devils are an athletically sound team that need to learn lacrosse fundamentals. Most of the athletes are picking up the game for the first time. Coaches will be looking to veteran players to help mold new players. It could be an exciting season for the Blue Devils when it all comes together. 

MARANACOOK/WINTHROP/SPRUCE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
Coach: Jake Linkletter (first year)
Class: C; Conference: KVAC
2021 results: 8-6, lost in regional quarterfinals.
Returning athletes: Seniors —Matt Fenlason (G), Dylan McGarr (M/A), Sam Mckee (LSM), Eric Vining (A/M), Wyatt Lyons (A), Sam Linton (M), Mark Beach (D), Thomas Struck (A); Sophomores — Bennett Ross (M), Zach Chapman (D), Max Cheng.
Promising newcomers: Senior — Seth White (M/D); Junior — Chase Mclaughlin (D/FO); Freshmen — Barrett Perkins (D), Parker Douin (M/A), Cobey Dunn (M), Owen Lyons (M).
Season outlook: There is excitement coming into the season, according to first-year head coach Linkletter. The Hawks have a strong senior class and hope their leadership can take them to the next level.

MT. BLUE COUGARS
Head coach: Matt Reynolds (second year); Assistant coach: Shane Dudash (second year)
Class: B; Conference: KVAC
2021 results: 11-3, lost to state champion Yarmouth in state quarterfinal round.
Returning athletes: Seniors — Riley Nutting (D), Josh Smith (A), Colby Ranger (M), Brady Bickford (G), Reese Keaton (D), Isaiah Doscinski (M); Junior — Dustyn Hinkley (M); Sophomores — Chase Ranger (A), Levi Bogar (D), Ben Daku (G), Mason Willett (M), Finely Ward (M), Cole McCourt (M).
Promising newcomers: Bode Markum (M/FO), Tate Abbott (A), Kaden Smith (M).
Season outlook: The Cougars are building on a successful 2021 season. The leadership from returning players, led by Chase and Colby Ranger, has been beneficial to the team. Players filling gaps left by departing seniors will increase the team’s overall lacrosse IQ. According to Reynolds, this year’s team will be exciting to watch as returning players — as well as players who have taken a year off — are united to continue the Mt. Blue tradition.

OAK HILL/MONMOUTH/LISBON RAIDERS
Coach: Joey Hinkley (seventh year)
Class: C; Conference: MVC
2021 results:
15-1, lost in state championship game.

Season outlook: The Raiders look to stay focused and take one game at a time.
