NORDIQUES’ GREEN NAMED TOP STAR: Maine Nordiques forward Zion Green was named the NAHL’s East Division Star of the Week on Monday.

Green totaled three goals and three assists in three games for the Nordiques over the past week, including a goal and three assists in a win over the Johnstown Tomahawks.

“Zion loves getting better at the rink every day,” Nordiques coach Matt Pinchevsky said in an NAHL press release announcing the divisional honors. “He is a student of the game and seeks out development in all aspects of the game. He has had major growth this year as a productive winger and focusing on his complete game. His ability to create offense makes him a fun player to watch, and his linemates have a blast out there with him. We are very proud of Zion and are excited to continue helping him to become an outstanding Northern Michigan Wildcat in the future.”

Nordiques teammate Brendan Gibbons was an honorable mention for the East Division Star of the Week.
