Gary Linsley Tatton

LEWISTON – Gary Linsley Tatton, 71, of Norway, died on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at D’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.Gary was born in Perth Amboy, N.J., on Dec. 4, 1950, the son of Douglas and Constance (Clarkson) Tatton. He grew up in Metuchen, N.J., and graduated from Metuchen High School in the class of 1968.He continued his education at Iowa State University, followed by a master’s degree in psychology from Seton-Hall. After relocating to Maine in 1988 Gary earned a master’s degree in social work from the university of New England.He was employed as a substance abuse counselor at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway. Most recently he was a counselor at Spurwink Services at their Lewiston/Auburn location; he retired in 2014.Gary loved spending time exploring the outdoors, riding his ATV and occasional target practicing on the power line near Furlong Pond, he was very proud to be a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.Gary is survived by his favorite Scottie, Molly; and his longtime companion, Candace Roberts Anderson.After many years of dealing with social and medical issues, Gary is now at peace.There will be a private graveside service later this spring.
