Jeanne C. Varney

AUBURN – Jeanne C. Varney, 74, of Auburn, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, March 10, 2022, with her family by her side.

Daughter of Romeo and Grace (St. Onge) Hemond, she was born Jan. 2, 1948, in Lewiston and a graduate of Lewiston High School.

She married Lawrence H. Varney in 1968. She enjoyed spending time with family and taking trips. She enjoyed studying and teaching the Bible in bible studies.

She was employed at ENEFCO Int. in Auburn, then a loving caregiver for her husband for 14 years.

She was predeceased by her father, mother; her son, Ricky; her husband; and her brother, Robert.

She is survived by her son, Scott Varney, and fiancé Karen Pelletier of Greene, daughter, Cheryl Peterson and husband, Timothy, of Turner; a brother, Ronald Hemond and wife, Sharon, a sister-in-law Charlene Strout and husband, Dexter; and grandchildren Shane Michaud and wife, Natalie, Nathaniel Peterson, Joshua Peterson; and great-granddaughter, Payton Michaud.

The family wishes to thank the East Auburn Baptist Church family who provided her with caring support, and the Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23 at East Auburn Baptist Church at 11 a.m., with reception to follow.
