LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women’s board of directors announced that Sue Kingsland has retired as executive director, effective April 21.

Kingsland has been with the center since March 2020.

Despite most of her tenure happening during the pandemic, Kingsland was able to nurture important connections with sister agencies and make important strides in solidifying the sustainability of Sophia’s House, a residential community for women healing from experiences of addiction, trafficking and incarceration.

Kate Marble, former chairwoman of the board of directors said, “Sue was able to steward the center through a pandemic and through the opening of Sophia’s House, which was able to help many women in the Lewiston-Auburn community.” Additionally, Kingsland spent much hands-on time providing direct services to clients helping them to feel supported and heard.

Lee Parker, who has been affiliated with the organization for many years, will serve as an interim executive director as a more comprehensive search for Kingsland’s replacement takes place.

Candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. To apply, email a cover letter, resume and references to CWWedsearch@gmail.com. Consideration of resumes will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
