Joan E. Hakala
LISBON – Joan E. Hakala died peacefully at home April 19, 2022. She was born October 4, 1957 in Lewiston a daughter of Alfred and Constance swift Hakala.
She was a graduate of Oxford hills high school class of ‘75 later attending the University of Maine, Orono.
While being a professional chef most of her life, her real joy was cooking for friends and family accompanied by the best music playing.
Joan is loved and will be missed by so many, from her family, childhood friends to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her along the way. They will all say that her soul encompassed the truest meaning of kindness and love.
She was a proud member of the Finnish American Society and her love of dancing led her to the Casco Bay Movers Company.
She was predeceased by her brother Alan Hakala.
She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Acciard and her fiancé Mike LaGrow of Arizona; two sisters, Paula Kaiser of Jay and Donna Ryder of Wilton, Marjorie Kaiser of Florida; and three nephews of Maine.
