Bucky’s Service Station, on Railroad Street, received a face-lift that included removal of the canopy and a new front with a roof sloping to the rear.

90 years ago: Guy Morgan was making extensive improvements on the filling station property on the West Bethel Road. Paul Croteau’s home in West Greenwood was destroyed by fire. All furnishings were lost.

100 years ago: Robert D. Hanscom was chosen to take part in the Stanley Plummer Prize Speaking Contest to be held at Bowdoin College. At the Bangor convention, Herman Mason and Miss Cleo Russell were appointed as members of the Oxford County Republican County Committee.

120 years ago: J.P. Skillings erected a birch mill in the town of Sumner. A. F. Andrews and Son of Norway sold $20,000 worth of wool.
