AUBURN — English teacher Jen Braunfels’ classroom at Edward Little High School had a little less literature Monday and a lot more fashion.
The classroom was turned into a dress shop for the afternoon, as students shopped for free gowns and men’s suits that they could wear to the upcoming prom.
Cynthia Turcotte of Out Maine had over 150 dresses and a few men’s jackets that she collected for the recent Rainbow Ball that were not used. Edward Little is one of three high schools that Turcotte will travel to this week to give away gowns at no charge.
The Edward Little prom, “A Night in Hollywood,” is set for May 14.
