Amanda Jean Emery

MECHANIC FALLS – Amanda Jean Emery, 39, of Mechanic Falls, passed away on April 10, 2022 at the Androscoggin Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Feb. 11, 1983, daughter of Jeff and Darlene Boyd.

She was educated in Mechanic Falls and graduated from Poland Regional High School in 2001. She was a member of the Walt Disney World College Program after High School.

She was employed at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Maine Medical Center, and most recently Tri-County Mental Health. Never afraid to try anything she worked briefly at the District Attorney’s office in South Paris. She devoted her career to helping others and touched many lives.

She attended the University of Maine in Farmington and Augusta and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelors of Mental Health and Human Services. She achieved her Licensed Social Worker certification in 2021.

Amanda married Anthony Emery, May 31, 2014. Together they have raised a son Alex and daughter Adriene. She was so proud of her family and loved her children with all her heart.

Amanda was a vibrant, fun, and amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She enjoyed travel, shopping, bonfires, and most of all the time she spent with her family. She will be deeply missed by all of us.

Amanda is survived by her husband Anthony Emery; children Alex and Adriene Emery; parents Jeff and Darlene Boyd; sister Allison Bennett and husband Kevin Bennett; nieces Lilliana and Nora Bennett; grandmother Velora Piper; mother and father-in-law Rose and Ollie Emery; brother and sister-in-law Patrick and Rachel Emery; and nephews Cyrus and Drake Emery.

Amanda was predeceased by grandparents Lloyd and Helen Boyd and Frank Piper; great- grandparents Walter and Florine Perry and Annett Clifford and Aunt Doreen Piper.

We would like to thank Lacy Rechisky and Courtney Levesque who rallied the community with support for our family as Amanda battled valiantly against her disease as well as Stephens Memorial Hospital, Maine Medical Center Oncology, Androscoggin Hospice House and the local EMS teams for the exceptional care and compassion they provided for Amanda.

The family will greet friends and family on Friday, May 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home, 26 West Dwinal Street, Mechanic Falls. Burial will take place Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery. For those who cannot attend her services will be live streamed on her obituary page at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com.
