
AUBURN – Samuel F. Giles, 73, of Norway passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Hospice House. He was born in Norway on Sept. 24, 1948, the son of Samuel C. and Viola Rainville Giles.
He graduated from Oxford Hills High School and faithfully served our country in the U. S. Army. He was a rural carrier for the U. S. Postal Service, retiring in 2014. He also worked part-time at WalMart in the sporting goods department.
He was a member of the Norway/Paris and Waterford Fish and Game. He loved his Brittany hunting dogs. He was a gun safety instructor for women and children. He loved hunting, fishing and was an award-winning skeet and trap shooter throughout New England. He also enjoyed snowmobiling.
He is survived by his daughters Tammy Kilgore, Tracey Hewey and Samantha Hewey; five grandchildren; his sisters Diane Giles, Dawn Fritz and Sheila Robinson; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Robert Lee Giles.
Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Oxford Hills Funeral Services, 1037 Main St., Oxford.
