BATON ROUGE, La. — The following people recently were initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines:

At the University of Southern Maine:

Stephanie Tucker of Anson, Heather Cimellaro of Auburn, Duchess Killam of Bethel, Zachary Leavitt of Buckfield, Pearl Gilbert of East Poland, Shelby Hicks of Fayette,  Tammie Breton of Greene, Lyndsy Turmel of Greene, Regina Goyette of Lewiston, Tracey Stoner of Mechanic Falls, Stacey Berry of Otisfield, Molly Miller of Raymond, Mar-E Trebilcock of Topsham, Kristina Wilson of West Paris and Micaela Hajduk of Winthrop.

At the University of Maine:

Qat Langelier of Auburn, Katrina Ladd of Farmington, Patrick Malia of Fryeburg, Elijah Caret of Oakland, James Frost Jr. of Poland and Emma Williams of Wilton.

They are among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
