PORTLAND — During May, Maine churches are planning special gatherings, processions and events centered on praying the rosary.

In alphabetical order, here is a list of the rosary gatherings planned throughout May.

Augusta: St. Monica Chapel, 5 Kendall St. The rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Mondays.

Bangor: St. John Church, 217 York St. The rosary will be prayed following the 5:30 p.m. Mass on Friday, May 6, Monday, May 9, and Monday, May 13, which is the Memorial of Our Lady of Fatima.

Bangor: St. Mary Church, 768 Ohio St. The rosary will be prayed on Friday, May 13, on the Memorial of Our Lady of Fatima, after the 8:30 a.m. Mass.

Biddeford: St. Joseph Church, 178 Elm St. The rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. each day in St. Anne’s Chapel, with the exception of Tuesdays when it is prayed in Saco.

Bridgton: St. Joseph Church, 225 South High St. The rosary will be prayed at 9 a.m. Saturdays.

Brunswick: Brunswick Mall on Maine Street. All Saints Parish will host a rosary rally in the gazebo at noon Saturday, May 14.

Fort Fairfield: St. Denis Church, 147 Main St. The rosary will be prayed at 10:15 a.m. Sundays.

Fort Kent: St. Louis Church, 26 East Main St. A special devotion to Mary on Sunday, May 15, will include a live rosary dedicated to the oppressed people of the world and for people’s special intentions. The rosary is also prayed at the church prior to 7 a.m. Wednesday and 4 p.m. Saturday Masses.

Gorham: St. Anne Church, 299 Main St. A rosary rally will be held outside St. Anne Church on Saturday, May 7. The celebration will begin with 11 a.m. Mass in the church, followed by the noon rally, and then fellowship time. The rally is sponsored by Maine Needs Fatima.

Island Falls: St. Agnes Church, 76 Sewall St. The rosary will be prayed at the church at 5 p.m. Saturdays.

Kittery: St. Raphael Church, 6 Whipple Road. The rosary will be prayed on Fridays after 9 a.m. Mass.

Lewiston: Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul, 122 Ash St. The rosary will be prayed at 6:25 a.m. Mondays through Fridays, and at 7:45 a.m. Saturdays.

Lisbon Falls: Holy Trinity Church, 67 Frost Hill Ave. The rosary will be prayed at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays.

North Caribou: Sacred Heart Church, 1143 Van Buren Road. The rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Wednesdays.

Norway: St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 32 Paris St. The rosary will be prayed at 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays.

Oquossoc: Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 43 Rangeley Ave. The rosary will be prayed at the Mary Shrine at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays.

Peaks Island: St. Christopher Church, 15 Central Ave. The rosary will be prayed outdoors at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7.

Portage: Our Lady of the Lake Church, 2111 Portage Road. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

Portland: Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress St. A rosary rally will be held on the lawn of the cathedral at noon Saturday, May 14. In the event of rain, the gathering will be held in the chapel.

Presque Isle: Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 333 Main St. The rosary will be prayed at 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

Rumford: St. Athanasius & St. John Church, 126 Maine Ave. The rosary is prayed daily at 7:30 a.m., prior to the 8:15 a.m. Mass.

Saco: Most Holy Trinity Church, 271 Main St. The rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Tuesdays.

Saint Francis: St. Charles Borromeo Church, 912 Main St. Join in praying the rosary prior to the 6 p.m. Saturday Mass.

Sanford: Holy Family Church, 66 North Ave. A rosary procession will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 15, following the 10 a.m. Mass. A reception will follow.

South Berwick: Our Lady of the Angels Church, 162 Agamenticus Road. The rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. Saturdays.

South Portland: Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesdays, followed by adoration.

Van Buren: St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, 174 Main St. The rosary will be recited daily at noon in the parking lot of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church by the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Waterville: Notre Dame du Perpetuel Secours Church, 116 Silver St. All are invited to join in praying the rosary at 11:30 a.m. Mondays, prior to the 12:15 p.m. Mass.

Winthrop: St. Francis Xavier Church, 130 Route 133. The rosary will be prayed at 7:30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays.
