Abigail Prokey, Cora Brewster, Emma Stevens-Belanger and Kayden Haylock all had multiple hits for the Bucks. Emma Stevens-Belanger went the distance on the mound for Buckfield.
In the second contest, the Rebels were again victorious coming back to win in extra innings by a score of 12-10, with Sara Chase driving in the game winning run. Freshman pitcher Maylan Hastings went the distance for the Rebels, earning her first career Telstar victory. Macie Hallett, Makenzie Eliot and Payton Berry had multiple hits for the home Rebels, with Hallett adding six stolen bases. Katie Evans and Karen Marshall also added hits for Telstar.
Carmen Crockett went the distance on the hill for the visiting Bucks. Crockett, Kayden Haylock and Amelia Hill all had multiple hits for Buckfield.
The wins came at an opportune time for the Rebels as they struggled out of the gate dropping their first three games. The Rebels opened the 2022 campaign with a home loss against Hall-Dale by a score of 16-4. The Rebels managed seven hits by Macie Hallett, Leah Kimball (2), Karen Marshall, Natasha Mason and Makenzie Eliot, but early season jitters contributed to defensive lapses.
The Rebels fell to the Dirigo Cougars by a score of 9-1, managing just two hits by Payton Berry and Makenzie Eliot. Grace Robbins tossed a gem for Dirigo, while Alyvia Perreault went three for five with a home run for the Cougars.
Telstar’s woes continued in their third game, after being vanquished by Monmouth Academy 16-2. The Rebels managed but three hits by Natasha Mason, Macie Hallett and Payton Berry. Brooklyn Federico went the distance for Monmouth striking out six Rebels.
