REGION — Telstar Varsity Rebels fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 16-0 loss to Dirigo on Monday last week. Dirigo took the lead on a single in the first inning.

The Telstar Varsity Rebels struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Dirigo, giving up 16 runs.

Dirigo got things moving in the first inning, when Tompkins singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

A single by Anthony Conant in the second inning was a positive for Telstar Varsity Rebels.

Hutchinson led the Dirigo to victory on the mound. The hurler went four innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out seven.  Houghton threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Wil Doyle took the loss for Telstar Varsity Rebels. The righty lasted four innings, allowing nine hits and 11 runs while striking out five.

Matt Dillon, Conant, and Wyatt Lilly each managed one hit to lead Telstar Varsity Rebels.

Dirigo racked up 12 hits in the game.  Smith. W, Collins, Holman, and Houghton each managed multiple hits for Dirigo.  Smith. W went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Dirigo in hits.  Dirigo didn’t commit a single error in the field. Tompkins had  eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
