Roadside clean-up

OTISFIELD — There will be an Otisfield Conservation Committee sponsored roadside clean-up, Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Rain date is May 14. Meet at the Community Hall at 8:45 a.m. Trash bags, water and plastic gloves will be provided by the town. Lunch for volunteers will be provided by the Community Lunch Committee at the Community Hall at noon.

Supper-dance

LOCKE MILLS — A supper-dance will beheld May 10 at Legion Post #68. Supper is from 5-6 p.m. Adults $12, children under 12, $5. Dance will be from 6-9 p.m., $5.

Ham, mashed potatoes, carrots, peas and desserts. Sponsored by the Legion Auxiliary.

Historical program

PARIS — On May 19, Mike Davis of the Bridgton Historical Society will speak on the anti-slavery/temperance movement.  The meeting is free and will be held at the Paris Cape Historical Society, 77 High St.  at 7 p.m.

Bridgton breakfast

BRIDGTON — Oriental Masonic Lodge #13 and Pondicherry Chapter #192 of Order of the Eastern Star will hold a pancake breakfast on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Masonic Hall at 166 Harrison Road. Tickets are $10 for adults,  $5 for kids and moms eat for free!

Proceeds will be used to replace the handicap ramp at the Masonic Hall in Bridgton.

Open house for retirees 

AREA — A Buckfield, Hartford, and Sumner community open house will be held to celebrate the retirements of George Reuter, Annette Caldwell, Lee Berry, Linda Andrews, Tom Light, and Merriell Perry, all longtime educators and employees of Buckfield Jr./Sr. High School and/or the Hartford Sumner Elementary School.
The open house will be held on Friday, May, 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Masonic Hall on High Street in Buckfield. Light refreshments will be served.
