Suzanne Thurlow Submitted

NORWAY — Visitors to Norway Memorial Library can enjoy a spring art display by Norway artist Suzanne Thurlow. “Heartfelt Art” features watercolor and acrylic originals and giclée prints.

Thurlow grew up in Randolph, Maine. Her love of art and writing ignited during summer school and visits with her aunt Marjorie Sewell at Haystack Mountain School of the Arts. There she observed artists at work in beautiful wooded surroundings.

After painting privately for many years, Suzanne exhibited her work at St. Joseph’s College in Standish where she was employed. Professor Susan Henderson said, “Suzanne’s style is her own. She leans a little toward the impressionists.

“Her art communicates a message. The feeling and tone remind one a little of Chagall in the somewhat whimsical mix of joy and sorrow into a whole, strong beauty.” In addition to painting, Thurlow designs and paints greeting cards and writes verse.

This display is on view whenever the library is open. For more information call 743-5309 ext. 1.
