100 Years Ago: 1922
Residents on Central Avenue claim to have seen fish swimming about in the small “lake,” in the old circus ground gully fronting that street. In fact, the children of the neighborhood have been spending some time with fishing rods there, but have had poor catches.
50 Years Ago: 1972
Shocking pink, giant size flowers will decorate the candle lit tables at the fashion show being held Wednesday, May 10 at St. Joseph’s School auditorium. The fashions will be shown in conjunction with a card party scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm. Preparing the flowers are Anna Dubord, Lina Olsen, Mrs. Gerard Reny, Mrs. Bertrand Lacombe. Mrs. Ray Olson, is chairman of the “Three Coins in the Fountain” show, proceeds of which will benefit St. Joseph’s Confraternity of Christian Doctrine programs.
25 Years Ago: 1997
The Great Falls Model Railroad Club will meet at Merrill Hill School, Western Avenue at 7 pm Thursday when there will be a program on the St, Lawrence and Atlantic passenger excursion. A brief meeting will follow and election of officers will be held.
