Fruit trees are beginning to bloom. The white of bursting buds was plainly visible on the plum trees on an Auburn lawn, Saturday morning.
50 Years Ago: 1972
Members of service clubs and sororities at Edward Little High School worked Saturday morning on a clean-up campaign around the high school. During the same period members of Boy Scout Troop111 worked on a clean-up job in the urban renewal area between Turner Street and West Pitch.
25 Years Ago: 1997
Beginning May 14 and running for five weeks, Turner Adult Education and Springbrook Golf Club will conduct a course for beginner golf students. Instructor Dick Carroll of Springbrook will teach the basic skills of golf: the golf swing, driving, putting, chipping, rules and etiquette.
