100 Years Ago: 1922

Co. “E” of the 103rd Infantry which uses city hall for a drill floor Monday evening drilled in the city park Monday evening, having permitted the daughters of St. Paul and St. Vincent to have the hall for the annual May Ball. Co. “H” had a platoon on the rifle range on Sunday, probably the first National Guard unit in Maine to tackle range practice.

50 Years Ago: 1972

Two live owls were found along the shore of Lake Auburn Tuesday night, and they were taken to the game farm in Gray.

25 Years Ago: 1997

A fun shoot will be held Sunday, May 18, at 9 am at the Mert Jones Farm in Hartford. Signs will be posted to show visitors the way. The shoot is open to the public, and 25 clay bird rounds cost $3. Proceeds will benefit the building fund of the John D. Long American Legion in Buckfield. Refreshments will be sold.
