Rita Delvina Ouellette Balsamo

JAY – Rita Delvina Ouellette Balsamo, 88, of Jay, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Rita was born on Aug. 25, 1933 a daughter of Leon and Annoncial Ouellette in Leeds. She graduated from Livermore Falls High School in 1951, and was later employed by the Livermore Glove Shop. She married Victor Balsamo of Jay, on Oct. 24, 1959. They raised seven children together on Marcello St in Jay. Rita was a faithful member of St. Rose of Lima church in Jay, serving in various ministries. Rita enjoyed reading Christian books, playing Chinese checkers with her grandchildren, hunting for yard sale gems, craft fairs, summer picnics, family beach days, holiday gatherings, and most of all spending all the time she could get with her beloved family. Rita was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Victor Balsamo in 2018. She is survived by her sister Corilla Ouellette Galipeau of Alabama; her children; son, Antonio and Carolyn Balsamo, daughter, Bernadette and Rocco (deceased) Astrella, son, John Balsamo, son, Paul and Rachel Balsamo, son, Robert and Virginia Balsamo, daughter, Marianna and Ben Desjardin, son, Gene and Sandra Balsamo; She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m., at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 308 Franklin Road, Jay where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
