WEST PARIS — The monthly meeting of the Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, at the FinnAm Center at 8 Maple St.

Following a brief business meeting, there will be a showing of “Fire and Ice,” the 2014 BBC documentary on the Winter War of 1939. The film provides compelling details of the invasion of Finland by overwhelming forces of the Soviet Union and its relevance to current events in Eastern Europe cannot be ignored.

As always, the public is invited.
