PARIS — Rep. John Andrews has pledged $1,000 to support a new expansion project for Responsible Pet Care.
Responsible Pet Care is currently raising funds for a new 846-square-foot single story building that will be handicap accessible. The new building would be used to host hours for a traveling veterinarian to work with the animals of elderly citizens, or those who are unable to afford services and travel distance for their pets.
The building would also help the organization as intake area for dangerous dogs and small-scale disaster relief.
The organization currently in the fundraising portion of this capital project.
“Every campaign cycle I make it a point to invest funds into our community,” Andrews said “Responsible Pet Care does a wonderful job for animals in the Oxford Hills and I cannot think of a better organization to invest in. I would urge citizens and businesses to join me in helping to fund this important project.”
“There are many in the area who cannot travel or afford to have their animal spayed or neutered and we really want to help provide that service locally,” said Shirley Boyce, board president of Responsible Pet Care. “This new building will really help keep our animals safe and provide a real service locally. We are very hopeful for the community’s support of this project.”
Responsible Pet Care has sought funding through ARPA funds in many different towns and has applied for grants to help fund the project.
