WEST PARIS – Judith Clements Packer has offered to match individual donations, up to $8,000, to help with raising funds for the First Universalist Church of West Paris Stained-Glass Restoration Project.

The donation match time period runs through Sept. 1, according to a news release from the church.

Packer, a sister of the late Nicholas Clements of Bryant Pond, is making this donation in his memory.

The church was constructed along with the Tiffany style, Art Nouveau windows in 1905 and was dedicated in 1906. The stained-glass windows are in need of repair and restoration, which will be done by the Willet-Hauser Architectural Glass Company, a specialist and industry leader in stained-glass original work and restoration for liturgical, public art, institutional and secular buildings.

The restoration project is due to begin in June.

The church has to date raised $17,592 toward a total for the project of $50,100. Donations can be made to The First Universalist Church of West Paris, Stained-Glass Window Project, P.O. Box 36, West Paris, ME 04289.
