50 Years Ago: 1972
Atty. Gordon Stein of Pine Tree Legal Aid will be the speaker at next week’s meeting of the Auburn Exchange Club. He will speak on Legal Services for the Poor. A native of Seattle, Washington, Stein studied law at the University of Washington. He is a member of the bar association of Alaska, Washington and Maine. He practiced three years in Alaska and has been in this area since December 1971.
25 Years Ago: 1997
The Jay Historical Society will meet May 21 at 7 pm at the Jay-Niles Memorial Library. Guest speaker will be Town Manager Cornell Knight who will discuss what’s happening in town, what changes are scheduled and what is possible in the future.
