LEWISTON — The second annual Wishing for Fishing Memorial Ride & Event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at LA Harley at 839 Main St.

This event is in memory of Nicholas Marin, son of Monica and Michael Marin of Sabattus, who died in 2020.

The first ride was held May 22, 2021. More than $4,000 was raised, giving away 19 Maine Lifetime Fishing Licenses to children younger than 16, according to a news release from Monica Marin.

The family hopes to have an even larger event this year, despite the date being Memorial Day weekend.

The guided motorcycle ride portion will leave LA at 11 a.m. and return at approximately 12:30 p.m.

During the event there will be a huge raffle table filled with prizes from local businesses, a 50/50 drawing, and Pinky D’s Poutine Food Truck on site from noon to 2 p.m.
