To the Editor:
I am writing to announce my candidacy for Selectperson for the Town of Bethel. Many of you know my background and for those who don’t, I grew up in western Maine and am wholly familiar with our region.
After completing a college internship at Sunday River and then graduating from the University of Vermont, I sought to work in the ski industry. I returned to the “Mountain”, worked there for 17 years, and have called Bethel home ever since.
I am fortunate to have been able to work locally in an entrepreneurial and small business environment for 38 years. And, I have enjoyed the privilege of participating in associations, philanthropic organizations, non-profit boards, and town committees.
I believe my business and administrative background, together with my community service experience, continues to bring value and added perspective to the Board of Selectpersons. Furthermore, I remain committed to advocating for public process and good governance in our municipal government.
It would be an honor to be re-elected and serve a second term as a Selectperson for Bethel. I ask for your vote in the upcoming elections on Tuesday, June 14. Thank you.
Michele Varuolo Cole
