The Rumford Public Library has added a new item to its collection: a pass to the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray.

The community pass allows up to seven people a day access to the park for a discounted fee of $3.50 per person when the pass is presented at the gatehouse. Children younger than 3 may enter the park for free, according to a news release from the library.

The pass may be used through Nov. 11. The park is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (visitors may stay until 6 p.m.) and is located at 56 Game Farm Road off Route 26.

The pass is offered to library patrons in good standing along with citizens of Rumford, Byron, Hanover and Roxbury. It will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and may be reserved in person up to a week in advance.

To obtain a pass, visit the library at 56 Rumford Ave. While all members of the party do not need to be present to get the pass, those requesting it should be prepared to give the names of those in the party, up to seven people.

The pass was purchased using donations to the Friends of the Rumford Public Library.

For more information, call the library at 207-364-3661, follow it on Facebook, or stop in.
