Bert Weymouth of Portland, formerly a linotype machinist at The Sun, has invented a new part to be used on all linotype machines with the outside galley which is working most satisfactually.

50 Years Ago: 1972

They are: Elizabeth Thomas, daughter of Mrs. Carlene Thomas of West Minot, publicity chairman; Cynthia Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Adams, 7 Josslyn St., Auburn, secretary; Terri Truitt, daughter of Mrs. Eleanor Truitt, 190 Center St., Auburn, president; Eliza Tierney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tierney, 31 Shepley St., Auburn, vice president; and Anne Baird, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Baird, 23 Granite St., Auburn, treasurer.

25 Years Ago: 1997

The final Parent-Tot Roundup for this year will be held at the Rumford Public Library on Thursday, June 5 at 10:30 a.m. A member of the Rumford Fire Department will be present to demonstrate the equipment a fireman uses and to talk with the children and adults about fire prevention and safety. Following the program, the children and their parents will enjoy a picnic in the library park. Be sure to bring a lunch and a picnic blanket. The picnic will be inside if it rains.
