Valencia Mary Madore Anketell

AUBURN – Valencia Anketell, 84, passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Born on Nov. 24, 1937, in Auburn, Maine. Vinnie grew up in Marston’s Corner and went to live with her sister Mary and husband Lawrence after losing her mother at a young age. Vinnie loved school and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1956. After graduation, Vinnie met and married William Anketell and they settled in Gray, Maine where they raised five children.In her younger years Vinnie enjoyed time at camp and adventures on their Harley Davidson. Vinnie loved to play the piano, was an excellent cook and talented seamstress. Her family loved her cream puffs, yeast rolls, and her Needhams were legendary. In her free time Vinnie loved reading, playing Scrabble, puzzles, feeding the birds, and tending her flower gardens. Vinnie’s love for her family knew no bounds. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.Vinnie is survived by her children, Stephen Anketell and wife Monique, daughter, Susie Bradbury and partner Dennis, William (Billy) Anketell, Timothy Anketell and wife Jill, and Matthew Anketell, along with ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl, and three grandchildren.Per her request, no funeral services will be held.
