The Tri-Town Optimist Club of Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland recognized two Poland Regional High students May 26 with Optimist Club student of the month awards.
Mabel Tyler and Olivia Austin were recognized as Optimist Students of the Month for May, according to a news release from Jenny Rose, RSU 16 Adult Education director and McKinney Vento Homeless Liaison.

Tyler is described by teachers as a conscientious student who works hard to achieve her full potential but also has a gift for bringing out the best in others.

Austin is described by teachers as a student with a stellar work ethic, who shares a thoughtful, creative perspective on assignments and projects.
