ANSWER: Fundraisers are fun, provide a terrific way to get together and bring in much-needed cash to help keep churches, Granges and nonprofits going. Please participate if you can and never be shy about stepping up to volunteer or donate services and items. It is all needed and appreciated.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the June 10 Sun Spots query about the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul replica, the writer suggests the replica was 3-feet tall, but writings at the time indicate it was 18 feet.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding the article about the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul model, I remember a model of the basilica on the lawn of Fortin’s Funeral Home on Horton Street in Lewiston during the 1930s and ’40s. Bell chimes would play Christmas carols and it was pleasant.–Dot, Auburn

ANSWER: I knew Sun Spotters would come through with stories about this. Keep ’em coming. I especially want to know what became of the model.
