HARRISON — The Historic Scribner’s Saw Mill and Homestead site on Jesse Mill Road is scheduled to be open for tours from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 18.

People can learn about the “Sash” saw used to cut lumber as well as how to put together a barrel, and tour exhibits in the Long Shed, the blacksmith operating the forge in the blacksmith shop, and the Homestead.

The barn and ice houses are also open for self-guided tours.

This season volunteers will be finishing the recently-raised timber frame to serve as an exhibit shed. The shed will hold early items related to the mill that will tell the early history and stories of the mill.

There will be a special exhibit of a Barcus Horse Stock donated to the mill years ago. It will finally have a permanent home.

A $5 donation for each adult is requested.
