With all towns reporting, Maine School Administrative District 17’s voters have approved its $47.56 million spending plan for the 2022-23 school year.

A total of 2,700 votes were cast in the seven towns reporting, with 1,901 in favor and 799 opposed.

Results by town are as follows:

Overall, 72% voted in favor of the the budget, which reflects an increase of 8.34% over this fiscal year’s budget, which ends June 30.

Also passing was Vocational Region 11’s Oxford Hills Technical School budget of $3.44 million for the next academic year, with about 75% of voters in favor. The technical school’s 2022-23 budget will be 3.84% higher than this year’s.

Several school board seats were set to be filled during Tuesday’s elections.

In Oxford, Stacia Cordwell was reelected and Shauna Broyer was elected to her first term. Broyer will replace Ron Kugell, who is retiring.

Kelly Jacobson will be Norway’s next school board director after receiving 346 votes to Amelia Lacasse’s 160. Jacobson will take over Christopher Miller’s vacating seat.

In Paris, Jennifer Russell ran unopposed and received 523 votes. She will take over the seat vacated by Scott Buffington, who did not run for reelection.

In Harrison, Mark Heidmann ran unopposed for the seat he was appointed to in October 2020; his vote count was 433. Two newcomers, Rose Lacasse and Scott Ramsdell, faced off to fill the seat left vacant since Al Lisowski resigned last year. Lacasse won that race with 258 votes compared to Ramsdell’s 161.
