James Richard Kroitzsh
SOUTH PARIS – James Richard Kroitzsh, 79, of Oxford, Maine, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 13, 2022. Born in Melrose, Massachusetts, on May 16, 1943, to Herbert and Rita Kroitzsh, Jim graduated from Saugus High School’s class of 1961. Jim enrolled in the Coast Guard in 1962 and served aboard the CGC General Greene as an Electronics Technician. Following the Coast Guard, Jim worked in the electronics industry. He married Jean Priscilla Roy on Oct. 26, 1968, and they resided in Groveland, Mass. Jim and Jean had three children, Steven, Kenneth and Heather. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, including camping, fishing, hunting, and traveling. Jim and Jean established various business ventures, including a thriving farm stand and orchard in Greenland, N.H., followed by a successful family run farming operation and regional wholesale bakery, Valley View Orchard Pies, in Hebron, Maine. Jim suffered the loss of his wife, Jean, in August of 2010. In 2014, Jim met and married Carlyn Watts of Otisfield, Maine. Together they enjoyed winter vacations in Florida and time at the family cabin Downeast. In August of 2018, they sold the business and retired to Oxford, Maine.Jim was a devoted and fun-loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and was loved by his extended family. Jim was predeceased by his first wife, Jean, and his brother, Donald. He is survived by his wife, Carlyn, his children, Steve (Cindy), Ken, Heather; his grandchildren, Morgan, Jordan, Ryder and Pyper, step-children Jodi (Troy) Roma and Darren Watts, five stepgrandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022, at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 32 Paris St., Norway. Interment will follow at the Maple Ridge Cemetery, Hebron Center Road, Hebron. Arrangements are in the care of the Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Road, Casco, ME.
