Nick Binette helped his own cause by collecting a pair of hits while also pitching into the seventh inning in Bessey Motors’ 10-4 win over Erskine in American Legion baseball action Thursday at the CARA complex in Augusta.
Josh Murphy and Andrew Merrill also banged out two hits for Bessey Motors, with one of Merrill’s coming in the form of a three-run home run.
On the mound, Binette pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing all four Erskine runs while striking out four batters.
