To the Editor:
I would like to thank the voters who took the time to cast ballots in the June 14 primary. I am truly honored that you selected me to be your standard-bearer in the November election. I would also like to thank my opponent, Jody Brown, for running an honest campaign focused on the issues Maine people care about. It is now time to come together and help our District and our State move forward.
If I am honored with election in November, I promise that I will work tirelessly to bring common-sense, conservative solutions, and traditional family values back to our State. I will do all I can to help parents remove the “woke” agenda from our schools, and put ‘mom and dad’ back in control of our children’s lives.
I will be coming to your door before the November election to ask for your vote. Please share your ideas and concerns with me. I promise you the straight answers you deserve.
Tammy Schmersal-Burgess
Candidate for Maine State Representative
District 77 Canton, Dixfield, Hartford, Mexico & Peru

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
