Josh Murphy filled up the scorebook on the mound and at the plate in Bessey Motors’ 16-6 win over Ware-Butler in senior American Legion baseball action Thursday in Paris.

Murphy struck out 15 batters in 5 2/3 innings, allowing six unearned runs on four hits. He also collected three hits and four RBIs to help his own cause.

Ethan Cutler paced the Bessey Motors bats with four hits, and Aiden Gonzalez and Hunter Tardiff added two apiece. Cutler equaled Murphy with four RBIs.

FARMINGTON FLYERS 7, ERSKINE 1: Sam Wrigley limited the damage of nine hits allowed, giving up just one run in 6 2/3 innings to help lift Farmington to a win in South China.

Ike Wrigley recorded the final out on the mound for the Flyers, and he scored two runs while walking three times at the plate. Sam Wrigley notched one of six Farmington hits, and leadoff hitter Jayden Meader led the way with two hits to go along with two runs scored.

Colby Lloyd paced Erskine with three hits from the leadoff spot.
