Lauren “Larry” M. Foster Sr.

POLAND – Lauren “Larry” M. Foster Sr., 78, of Poland, Maine, died June 18, 2022 at St Mary’s Hospital due to complications of pneumonia. She was born Nov. 8, 1943 to Virginia (Gilman) and Fred L. Foster Sr. In Greene.

On June 28, 1969, he married Suzanne Martel. He was the Founder and President of Santa Comes to Poland for 35 years until his retirement 2021. He volunteered for the Town of Poland Rescue for 10 years in the 90’s

He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and cooking. He loved a good antique car show.

He served his country in the Army during Vietnam. He worked for many years at Wards Garage in Poland and RH Foster in Scarborough and Lee Auto Mall in Auburn.

He was predeceased by his parents; four brothers Mark, Matthew, Joe and Wesley, three sisters Rose, Barbara and Frida; and his mother-in-law Delida.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his daughter, Penny Turcotte and husband Jim, sons, Rene Foster and wife Pauline, Lauren Foster Jr. and wife Tammy; sisters, Josephine (James) Quimby, Mildred Levesque, Cynthia Foster, Sally (Bertrand) Goyette, brothers, Preston (Davida) Foster, Fred L (Carole) Foster Sr, Scott Foster; eight grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
