Robert Dragoon

HANOVER – Robert Dragoon, 86, of Hanover, and Melbourne Beach, Fla., died on June 24, 2022 after a brief illness.

Bob loved his family more than anything and lived a life filled with countless well-designed and ingeniously executed projects. Born on August 27, 1935, Bob grew up in Rumford, graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in Engineering Physics, and began his career at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N.Y. He went on to work in research and strategic planning at Oxford Paper Company in Rumford; Mead Corporation in Chillicothe, Ohio; and Rexam Graphics in South Hadley, Mass. Upon retirement, he spent winters in Florida and summers in Maine.

Bob considered his family his greatest achievement.

He is survived by his wife and soulmate of 66 years, Mary Anne (Dyer); children Michael, Suzy (George) Brewer, and Alice (Jim) Leightheiser; grandchildren Max (Ashley) Dragoon, Chase (Courtney) Dragoon, Grace Leightheiser, and Charlie Leightheiser; great-grandchildren Dylan Dragoon and Clementine Dragoon; and sister, Ginny Todd and her family.

His sister, Barbara Gossett predeceased him.
