The Auburn Public Library, together with Central Maine Community College, plan to hold a summer outreach college night program, an Esport Management Workshop and Tournament, from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the 49 Spring St. library.

The workshop will be presented by Jason Libby, the Esports academic coordinator at CMCC.

The first half of the program will include workshop to learn about esports, video game appeal, basics of game design, marketing, and esport event planning.

Following the workshop, there will be a short break and then an esports mini tournament, according to a news release from the library.

If gaming is a passion, CMCC offers an Esports Management Associate in Applied Science degree, which focuses on the business aspect of esports while teaching how to develop teams and online communities.

This program is for those in grades six through 12.
