LEWISTON — A local man was seriously injured Wednesday night when he lost control of his motorcycle and drove into a rock along Old Greene Road.
Police said 29-year-old Kyle Fenderson of Lewiston was taken first to Central Maine Medical Center and later to Maine Medical Center in Portland with injuries suffered in the wreck.
Investigators said it appeared that Fenderson lost control of his Honda VT750 in the area of 732 Old Greene Road at about 5 p.m. When he tried to correct, police said, he ended up driving into a rock at the side of the road.
It was not immediately clear if Fenderson had been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Lewiston Police Department’s accident reconstruction team was called to assist in the investigation, which was ongoing Thursday.
Fenderson remained at the Portland hospital where he was expected to recover from his injuries.
