Renata Moise

Please join us at the Rangeley Public Library on July 13th at 6:00 p.m. for rare insights into the past, present and future of Orgonon. Eighty years ago, in 1942, Wilhelm Reich purchased the old Jesse Ross farm on Dodge Pond Road. As many area residents know, Mary Boyd Higgins ran the Wilhelm Reich Infant Trust Fund (WRITF) managing Orgonon and overseeing publication of Dr Reich’s books from 1959 until her death in 2019. Since 2021 Dr Reich’s grand-daughter, Renata Reich Moise RN, CNM, a nurse-midwife in Hancock County, has served as the Trust’s President and will discuss recent developments and plans for the future. In addition to her position as a nurse-midwife at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital and her role with the WRITF, Renata has established herself as a painter and keeps a studio near her home in Hancock. Dr. Reich’s son Peter, who attended Rangeley Elementary School 1950-1954, will share stories of Orgonon and Rangeley in the early 1950s. Peter, attended Bates College and earned Masters Degree in Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health. He served as a faculty and staff member at Boston University Schools of Medicine and Public Health 1979-2009.
