Beatrice Ouellette

LEWISTON – Beatrice Ouellette, of Lewiston, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022.

Born July 3, 1937, Beatrice is the daughter of Adelard and Marie Michaud and grew up in St. Pierre Lemay, Quebec Canada. She was one of nine children that grew up in this farming community where she learned her hard work ethic and love of family. Beatrice left Canada at the age of 17 to come to the United States to live and work with family in Lewiston. She worked in the thriving textile manufacturing era of Lewiston for 35+ years at Bates Mill before retiring.

Beatrice loved spending time with her children and family, from hosting and cooking for holiday gatherings to bringing family and friends together.

She loved dancing, knitting for family and attending social outings. She spent much time playing with her children, from games of whiffle ball to creating backyard hockey rinks, joining her kids in costume for Halloween trick or treating, shopping downtown with her daughter or helping her boys on their paper route.

She was a long-time member of Holy Cross Church, where she was a parish member for many years. She also in later years work for the parish with light duty cleaning.

Beatrice is survived by her loving husband Raymond of 62 years; her children Michael and his wife Shanna Ouellette, Richard and his wife Virginia Ouellette, Lisa and her husband Guy Denis; her sister Jeannine Labrie. Beatrice being of a large family is survived by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished each moment with them.

Beatrice was predeceased by her parents Adelard and Marie Michaudl her siblings Liane, Adrien, Rosaire, Ovila, Orize, Ernest, and Lionel.

A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 14, at The Fortin Group, 70 Horton Street, Lewiston.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, July 15, at the Holy Cross Church, 1080 Lisbon Street, Lewiston with a burial at Maine Veterans Cemetery at 1pm that day.
